Desert Safaris / Camping – local companies offer various sorts of excursions into Qatar’s desert regions, with 4X drive vehicles manned by local guides. Their camps are usually equipped with Bedouin style tents, carpeted with traditional seating, separate wash room/toilet for ladies and gents and sweet water for shower. Water and soft drinks are served in all of the tours. Some of these tours will take visitors to the marvels of the inland sea (Khor al Udied) near the Qatar-Saudi Arabian border and back. Other tours are conducted by beach buggies. For those conducting overnight safaris, BBQ dinners are prepared by chefs, and additional activities are included (from swimming – at the inland sea of Khor al Udied, to sand surfing and beach volleyball).
