Jones the Grocer (The Gate Mall, West Bay, Doha) — don’t be fooled by the name- it’s much more than a grocer- it’s the best bits of an upmarket grocer and bakery, housed in a modern, trendy, casual restaurant. And it’s just what Doha needs. Jones is an Australian concept that’s rapidly becoming wildly popular around the globe- even the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi has one in his private palace! Serving up a variety of homemade gourmet sandwiches, a delicious selection of mains, a handful of unique salads and a desert menu to die for, it’s also well located in the up and coming ‘Gate Mall’, West Bay.
All around the restaurant there are tantalizing shelves full of Jones’ own grocery items, to take home what you don’t have room to try at lunch! The food is delicious, with that ‘home made’ feel to it that we all love so much and is well priced. Expect to pay around 120QR each for a meal (starter, mains, desert and a drink). There’s a cured meat and cheese counter from which you can expertly choose a cheese course to eat in the restaurant, or take away to enjoy later. Also on offer is a selection of artisan breads and tempting pastries handmade and freshly baked in store. Service is friendly and with a smile.
